Description

Another niche part! This clip will snap securely onto your SKS B55 Bluemels fenders (55mm version).

My specific use case, was a need to shape my fender to fit my frame. While it's easy to “push” the fender, in my case, I needed to “pull” it, so that it was oval shaped to avoid wheel rubbing.  Enter this clip.  It's designed to fit cleanly onto the fender, and has a hole to fit a ~12" zip tie (e.g., large size).  You can then use the zip tie to pull it towards the frame. No more wheel rub!

I intend to experiment further, possibly to use this as a way of attaching a light to my fender. Could be a good starting point.

CAUTION: Assembly Required

This clip is minimally designed, as it had to fit into a tight space. The zip tie is FAR stronger than the clip, and will break tear out under even modest strain. The root cause of the problem, is layer adhesion: the zip tie is only held in based on the strength of two layers, which isn't much in a shear application. The challenge, is that I also needed a spring for clipping.  This limited my print orientation.

The solution is to reinforce the zip tie. It's not hard, and can be accomplished by adding two metal pins (think finishing nails), which spreads the load across the full width of the clip, instead of just across 2 layers. Photos illustrate the assembly process. I'm several weeks in, with no visible deformation or concerns. I don't expect any problems.
