Description
UPDATE: May 4, 2026 — Version 2.0 is here!
Based on user feedback and testing, I’ve completely overhauled the model. Here’s what’s new in V2:
- Improved Blade Alignment: Redesigned the blade compartment for a tighter, more secure fit. No more twisting or wobbling during the cut!
- Optimized Clearances: Adjusted all tolerances for a smoother "click-in" assembly without the need for glue.
- Enhanced Pill Compartment: Improved the storage area for better accessibility and convenience.
- Visual Refinement: Tweaked the exterior design for a sleeker, more professional look.
- Better Tablet Positioning: Modified the cutting slot to ensure tablets stay centered and get a clean cut every time.
Note: If you printed the V1, I highly recommend upgrading to V2 for the best experience!
Simple and Effective Pill Cutter
This is a simple yet effective pill cutter designed for clean and precise tablet splitting while minimizing crumbling. The design ensures the tablet is securely held in place before the cut.
Key features:
- Built-in Storage: Includes a dedicated compartment to store your tablets conveniently.
- Secure Fit: Keeps the pill stable for a perfectly centered cut.
- Smart Design: Uses the sturdy base of the blade (the part with the hole) for a more secure and stable fit.
Hardware required:
- Blade: Standard 18mm utility knife blade. Note: This design uses the base of the blade (the end with the mounting hole). You will need to snap off and remove the scored segments.
- Screw: One M3x8 screw (Optional: the device can be assembled without it, but it provides extra stability through the blade's hole).
Print Settings:
- Infill: 5–100% (Higher infill recommended for the lever's durability).
- Layer height: 0.2 mm.
- Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm.
- Supports: No (Designed for support-free printing).
