Print/Model Notes

• Model uses PAHT-CF but other filaments will work if they can withstand peak temperatures of 120°C to 130°C (248°F to 266°F)  and a normal operating range of 90°C to 105°C (194°F to 221°F)
  • PLA, PLA+, PETG, TPU: Fail - Will soften or creep in engine-bay heat
  • PETG-CF, ABS, ASA: Risky - May work short-term but heat + thread load can eventually cause deformation or stripping
  • PC, unfilled PA6/PA12: Marginal - Heat-tolerant and mechanically strong, but still subject to long-term creep under clamping load
  • PAHT-CF, PPA, PA6-GF, PA12-GF, PA6-CF, PA12-CF: Best - High heat resistance, low creep, excellent stiffness; the closest match to OEM engineering plastics
• Print with the cap facing down/threads up (no supports needed)
• The cap has a seal band and stop ring designed for a 6mm sealing surface
• Ironing is enabled for a smooth finish on the sealing surface (the underside of the cap)
• Use 5-6 wall loops to prevent oil seepage
• Print speed can be reduced by decreasing sparse infill to ~15%, increasing layer height to 0.24mm, or increasing wall/infill speeds by ~30% (Note: these all have a higher risk of failure)
• Highly recommend running flow dynamics and flow rate calibrations on your nylon first if not already calibrated – default flow rate tends to be much higher than optimal and will cause stringing, poor quality, or failure
