Description

Spool tunnel with stone headwall, Brio and IKEA Lillabo compatible.

This model is inspired by Spool Train Tunnel (Brio & LILLABO compatible) but not directly derived from it.

Main differences are:

  1. Headwalls have stone relieves and extend to the ground
  2. Filament as connecting pins instead of custom ones
  3. Thinner tracks without ramps
  4. Smooth borders
  5. Multicolor
  6. Compatible only with Bambu Lab's spool cardboard cores
  7. Currently supports only 2 cores (I will add 1 core and multicore versions in the future).

Instructions

  1. Insert the cores into the tracks
  2. Cut 3 pieces of filament shorter than 20mm
  3. Add a little bit of super glue to the tip of the filament pins
  4. Insert them in one of the tracks holes
  5. Add a little bit of super glue to the other tip of the filament pins
  6. Add a little bit of super glue to center top part of one track
  7. Connect the two tracks and hold for a few seconds, then leave them for a few minutes
  8. Add a drop of superglue inside the center-top part of one of the headwall
  9. Add a drop of superglue on the bottom sides that will get in contact with the track
  10. Attach the headwall to the cardboard core
  11. Repeat for the second headwall

See the photos for details.

I haven't thought about connecting the two spool cores with a tape! Excellent idea and looks great!

only because I used a drop of glue between the spools and didn't like the stains it left ;) but it does look good! Thanks again for sharing your work!
