This time, I'm bringing you a Magic Academy-style 3D wall-mounted photo frame! It's not only a stunning decoration but can also serve as a display shelf for action figures or hold some light everyday items! (Note: Printed files do not include the action figures).

A big thanks to Mikang for the photo support and construction supervision! 🐾

Overall Dimensions: Height 30cm, Width x Length 18x44cm (overall measurements including the doors and platforms). There are two versions available, and the length and width are interchangeable.

Showcase and assembly video below:

Assembly requires 3D printing glue (or CA glue) and a method to mount it to the wall, such as 3M nano tape.

Recommended Filaments:

  • Large Door Frame: Bambu PLA Wood - Walnut (Wood filaments perfectly match the magical aesthetic) / Bambu PLA Matte - Dark Brown.
  • Stairs: Bambu PLA Wood - Classic Birch / Bambu PLA Matte - Desert Tan.
  • Baroque Picture Frame: Silk Gold PLA (Silk gold looks gorgeous, but is slightly more challenging to print) / Other wood-colored filaments.

Photo Sizes & Hardware:

  • The photos for the large door frames are 4 inches, while the Baroque frames take photos of around 2 inches and will require some trimming.
  • Each door frame uses 4 magnets to attach to the backplate, requiring a total of eight 5x3mm round magnets. This design allows for easy photo swapping. The Baroque frames are glued in place, so the photos cannot be swapped once assembled.

Print Settings & Supports:

To achieve the best print quality, the Baroque frame is printed at a 45° angle. To provide better support, save material, and reduce print time (optimized mainly for the Bambu A1), I manually created a custom support model. It uses a custom break-away support design, which is not only incredibly stable during printing but also leaves almost no visible marks when detached. It is a fantastic support method. A huge thanks to the legend @Clough42 for sharing this support technique!‘

Update: April 5th Added a mirrored version! The "Low Left, High Right" version is suitable for when you have more wall space on the right side, while the "High Left, Low Right" version is better for when you have more space on the left. You can choose the one that fits your needs.
