Reusable hex grid stencil for drawing clean tabletop battle maps on paper, mats, or terrain surfaces. There are two versions:

V1: Very simple stencil, but you draw the tiles, not the border.

V2: Use a sharpened pencil to draw the borders.

Both will work, just depends what style you are going for.

This DnD hex grid stencil is designed to help create consistent hex-based battle maps for tabletop RPGs, wargames, and terrain planning. It provides a fast, repeatable way to mark connected hexes without measuring and redrawing each cell individually.

The open-frame layout makes it suitable for tracing with pencil, pen, chalk, or paint marker depending on the surface. It works well for sketching encounter maps on paper, drafting region layouts, marking movement zones, or transferring a hex pattern onto foam, gaming boards, or other terrain materials.

The model is optimized for common FDM settings with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height. This makes it easy to print on most hobby printers while maintaining good edge definition and enough rigidity for repeated tabletop use. The connected-cell structure improves handling compared to separate hex cutouts, and the wall geometry is intended to print cleanly without unnecessary complexity.

Printing notes:

  • Optimized for 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height
  • Print flat on the bed with no supports
