Description

Wanted to observe the temperature and humidity in the chamber of my Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro both locally and remotely, via WiFi and Internet.

Bought a Chinese KONLEN Tuya-compatible WIFI Hygrometer+Thermometer with 3 Meter External Probe. Liked the sensor: it is precise, with easy to read large digits and good software. It even has a built-in battery, hence provides readings even after the printer turned itself off, depriving the sensor of its power source.

You are indeed free to decide where you want to have the +5V DC voltage from, required to power the indicator. I took mine from the USB0 port which is located (although lacking the connector) somewhere around the middle of the printer motherboard. Needless to say: every printer modification you undertake is at your own risk, and could among other things void your warranty.

Could not find any appropriate holder on the Net, so had to design my own holder from scratch, along with a dedicated remote sensor mount.

My design fits best if your AD5M(Pro) has the following aftermarket lid riser:

but is fully useable without. (BTW no reason to not print and use this riser especially if you have an aftermarket filament cutter sitting on your print head, which, again, I see no reason to not have ;-)  ).

I printed my parts on my 5M Pro in black ASA-CF just for the hell of it, with a 0.6 mm nozzle and adaptive layer height, but imo PETG should also be totally OK for this job.

Feel free to add any supports which appear appropriate.

The plastic click-on printer top frame has enough space underneath to hold the excessive cable length of the external probe cable.

I provide editable STEP files, so you are free to modify my original design to make it better suit your needs.

I also provide several photos which hopefully make the fairly self-explanatory assembly process even more clear.

... and a 3mf file for Flashforge M5.

Enjoy!

Required additional hardware:
KONLEN Tuya-compatible WIFI Hygrometer+Thermometer with 3 Meter External Probe - 1 piece (versions with shorter cables could also work)
M5*10 screws, preferrably with flat and spring lock washers - 2 pieces
M5-threaded heat-set inserts - 2 pieces
Optional: some cable ties and cable protection means like cable sleeves.
Screw holes center distance: 30 mm W, 10 mm H
