  • Acoustic foam x 1: 20mm thick reccomended, i had this laying around but could be purchased as a sheet and then cut to size using the template
  • Fake moss x 1: i bought this from aliexpress as a large mat of 1*1m (this is way too much because you only need a 142mm square per hexagon)
  • Fake moss balls x 1: i also bought these from aliexpress

Description

Hexagon functional wall art, upgrade your wall with these 150mm hexagon panels, combining 3D printed frames, artificial moss, and acoustic foam for a unique blend of design and functionality.

The combination of soft materials helps reduce echo and improve room acoustics, while the moss adds a natural, calming aesthetic.

Included in this model are useful tools to make assembly easy and precise:

  • A cutting template to perfectly size your moss and acoustic foam (instead of using it as a template it can be used as a filler color)
  • Spacer tools (10 mm, 7.5 mm, and 5 mm) to ensure consistent gaps between panels

The panels can be hung on al wall with screws (holes for mounting are already printed in the design) or with double sided tape as the panels are not that heavy. You can print 12 full hexagons and the accesoires with 1 spool of PLA filament.

Panels on the pictures

The panels on the picture are printed with 0.28mm layers so it would print faster and you wouldnt see any difference with smaller layers when they are on the wall.

If you like this model, please leave a like and share your make 🙌

Assembly

  1. Print the desired number of hexagon panels
  2. Use the included template to cut moss and foam to size
  3. Put the first panel on the wall (I recommend to do a mockup first with some double sided tape)
  4. Use the spacer tools to align panels evenly on the wall
  5. Mount panels in your preferred pattern (first with some double sided tape)
  6. Mark where the scews need to be and put the screws in the wall
  7. Glue or press the moss and foam in the panels
  8. The panels can be mounted on the screws
