Description
The city that grows
A bonsai tree formed from miniature buildings, where architecture replaces nature. The structure grows upward like a living organism, while the green rooftops in the branches evoke foliage, blurring the boundary between urban space and organic growth.
The model is designed as three separate components that are assembled into a single structure. Once aligned, the parts are permanently joined using adhesive. Even though it requires a lot of support structures, printing and assembling was a fun experience. I wanted to choose an approach for the competition that metaphorically captures the concept of a bonsai and combine it with architectural elements. Have fun printing!
