Description

Here is a small bonsai tree model. This is a relatively fast print (it works well in Sport mode.) It does require supports but they seemed fairly easy to remove. I have included a color .3mf file as one of the raw files as well.

*If you are finding it difficult to remove the supports, I recommend you try changing the Top Z Distance to 0.27 and the Top Interface Layers to 1. I have also had limited success using an alternate material for the supports (PETG for a PLA print and vice-versa.)

**2/13/25 I have added a profile for a Jewelry Box version of the Bonzai Tree. Thank you Jean Tam for the idea!

the biggest is obviously bed adhesion.the other thing is the size. it says that it's 300% however on my A1 layout it says 255%. I think because of bed size. so I scaled it down to just 200%. I got off to a rough start with several misfires. but I custom painted my wife's chosen colors of teal, pink, and purple. I'll update this when it ever finishes printing as it still has 65 hours to go. wish me luck, it's not my longest print by any stretch but strange things can happen.

Wow, 65 hours!?! With all the supports on this thing I am surprised that there are adhesion issues. I don't have an A1 so I can't really speak to the printer but I was running it pretty fast on the P1S without problems (I've printed it probably a half dozen times, all single color though.)

well bed adhesion is all on me in a real world. clean your bed. I was just using the stock pei plate at 255% and it would keep knocking loose the base of the tree, then you have nothing but filament string everywhere.also, it couldn't happen at a worse time, as I just finished a major overhaul on my A1 and A1 mini to make room for the new P1S. well new to me, that is. purchased it from an eBay store with good feedback and long history. However it was what wasn't posted in the listing that had me worried, like the possibility that the printer could have upwards of 1400 hours on it, however any broken, or damaged parts were replaced with used parts from another working parts donor machine. well luckily my printer only had a total of 35 work hours on it. it looks the part also. So back to the tree, it's painted custom 4 colors through the Bambu slicer program. That's why it's got such a long print time on it due to all the color swaps. And this was after I changed it down from how I was going to make it look with variegated streaks running through the outer skin of the tree back. so, is 4-5 days i hope to have a finished product to shoe off.

it failed again in the middle of the night. I give up. it shouldn't matter if it's one color or four colors, the only difference is time. shouldn't matter how long it's taking to print. Now the bowl printed perfectly fine without any issues. At this point I'm using it for a parts bowl.

Not too bad for being on sport mode. Supports were a little tough but that can be fixed. Thanks for the design.

hey don't use the speed modes, change your max Volumetric flow instead. it slices speed changes better for optimum printing if your filament can handle the speed. speed modes just amplify motion but MVF more or less tunes for the speed of your filament, this is an extremely abbreviated explanation.

I used wood filament and it took 3 times to finally get it to print without exploding 😔. But I think it was worth it. Please keep in mind I don't think I would have had a problem printing it if I wasn't using a specialty filament, hence the high rating.

great print overall. printed in white PLA and used rub-n-buff to finish it out.

I printed it upside down as I incorporated a color change between the pot and the tree, which naturally required more supports I still need to smooth it out a bit, but I'm satisfied

came out as intended! I added the sample green pla color. I had issues with the supports that took one of the leaves off but may have been user error ( 20 hours into my printing journey)

The design is beautiful, only drawback is that the side with the supports is a tad scuffed, by just turn it around and it's amazing.

Printed well on sports mode. Supports need tweaked for easier removal.
