76mm / 3-inch Cutoff Grinding Disk - 2x Caddys

I love this tool! But the disks were running around my drawer so I printed a caddy to hold them. This takes up to 76 mm or 3 inch cutoff disks.

I make these things for myself, and put them online incase someone else can use them

Design Considerations Screw-Lid Robust Caddy

The ‘robust’ caddy has a screw-on lid and is designed for the knocks and rough treatment of a work environment.

• Side slots - so you can see how many disks you have left and more importantly to allow you to pick them out of the caddy.
• Screw-on lid with ribs - For secure storage and better grip.
• 10 mm grip-ring - on the base.

The lid’s securing thread is purpose‑built for 3D printing. Its rounded profile prints more cleanly without fewer overhang artefacts, while the matching thread in the lid includes tuned clearances & shape to minimise friction and zipper noise. After just a couple of screw‑on/off cycles, the interface beds in and runs smoothly. If you are so inclined a light dusting with talcum powder can do wonders to the action. 
 

Design Considerations Friction Lid Light Weight Caddy

This is a lightweight caddy - the lid is a slide on style and a little loose fitting, as the caddy is designed to sit in a workshop or toolbox, not really for transport. That said the lid flexes enough when you pick it up it locks in place and doesn't fall off.

• Side slots - so you can see how many disks you have left and more importantly to allow you to pick them out of the caddy.
• Slide-on lid - For quick access.

Print considerations

• PETG - Will generally result in a smoother thread engagement. PLA is the more noisy material.
