Description
DX Commander Style Parametric Guy Rings
A set of heavy-duty, solid-profile guy rings designed for telescopic antenna poles (specifically sized for DX Commander-style builds). Unlike "tabbed" designs, these are solid rings with guy holes integrated directly into the body for maximum shear strength and durability under high tension.
Included Sizes (Inner Diameter):
- 1x 50.1mm (Large base section)
- 2x 38.1mm (Mid-pole sections)
Technical Specs:
- Guy Holes: 3x 10mm holes per ring (spaced at 120°).
- Profile: Solid circular design for uniform stress distribution.
- Height: 15mm for reinforced structural integrity around the guy points.
Recommended Print Settings:
- Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS (Required for UV resistance and heat stability. Avoid PLA as it will creep/fail under constant tension).
- Wall Loops: 5 or 6 (Crucial for ensuring the guy holes are surrounded by solid plastic).
- Infill: 40%–50% (Gyroid or Cubic recommended).
- Supports: None required.
Customization:
The provided OpenSCAD script is fully parametric. If your pole has slightly different tolerances, you can easily adjust the inner_d or wall_thickness variables to get a perfect slide-fit.
Would you like me to generate a high-quality rendering or an image of these rings that you can use as your main cover photo on MakerWorld?
