Description

This is a mechanical calibration tool (an "abstract") used to determine the exact 3D-printed hole diameter required to fit a specific cylindrical peg. Because 3D printers often under-size internal holes due to extrusion width and material shrinkage, this tool allows you to find your "Effective Diameter" without wasting filament on a full-scale phantom.

How to Use

  1. Set Target Diameter: Use the Customizer to set the cylinder_diameter to your intended peg size (e.g., 2.0 mm).
  2. Print the Abstract: The print includes a Reference Peg (male control) and a Hole Strip (female gauge) with 0.1 mm increments.
  3. Perform Fit Test: Physically test the reference peg (or your actual metal part) in the various holes.
  4. Identify the Fit: Find which hole provides the perfect "press-fit" or "slip-fit" for your needs. Use that specific diameter in your final CAD design.
