Description

This is a Dimensionally accurate* version of a HIWIN MGN12H linear rail designed from the blueprint/dimensional drawing on their site

I found having a physical version of something helps when trying to prototype parts and systems, but don't want to risk accidentally ruining an actual linear rail when playing around (learnt that the hard way).

It fits together and does technically slide (enough to test things like clearance).

I have included the step files so you can import it into your CAD software of choice, without having to use the overly detailed ones provided by hiwin.

IT IS NOT DESIGNED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR USING AN ACTUAL LINEAR RAIL. IT'S JUST FOR MEASUREMENT/PROTOTYPING

The one in the photo was printed in bambu PETG-CF, but should work with just about any filament.

*I slightly changed the little bit that holds the carriage to the rail, to make it easier to print, but that's functionally internal and doesn't affect anything in terms of overall dimensions/placement.

I also have an MGN9H version here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2546290-test-mgn9h-rail-carriage
