Description

Idaho State University- Editable Fire Extinguisher Verification of Service Neck Rings

Small / Medium / Large – Editable Year (Bambu Studio File)

This Bambu Studio project file contains three plates with editable fire extinguisher service verification neck rings designed for use in facility fire and life safety programs.

Each plate contains one neck ring model so users can easily modify the service years and then duplicate the ring to fill the print bed without having to edit multiple objects individually.

The rings are labeled “Idaho State University Verification of Service”, but the year values can be edited to allow the model to be used for many years into the future.

This system was created for a university fire and life safety inspection program managing hundreds of extinguishers, where having a fast visual verification ring simplifies inspection workflows.

Plates Included

The project contains three plates, each with a different neck ring size:

Plate 1 — Small
For extinguishers with smaller valve necks

Plate 2 — Medium / Standard
Fits most common extinguisher valve necks

Plate 3 — Large
For larger valve necks

Only one ring is placed on each plate intentionally so users can edit the year once and then duplicate it.

How to Edit the Service Years in Bambu Studio

  1. Open the .3MF project file in Bambu Studio
  2. Select the plate with the desired size
    • Small
    • Medium
    • Large
  3. Rotate the model to view the underside
    • The text is located on the bottom of the model.
    • It is printed face down on the build plate to improve text quality.
  4. Double-click each year number
    • The year numbers are editable text objects
    • Change them to the correct service years (example: 2028–2029)
  5. Confirm the text placement
    • Ensure the text is still positioned correctly inside the ring.
  6. Duplicate the ring to fill the build plate
    • Right click the model
    • Select “Fill Bed with Copies”
    • Rearrange as needed to improve print efficiency.
  7. Slice and print

Printing Recommendations

Material:
ASA recommended (extinguishers may be located outdoors or in warm environments)

Other filaments may work for indoor environments.

Layer Height:
0.2 mm

Infill:
100%

Supports:
Not required

Orientation:
Print face down on the build plate (text facing the plate)

This orientation produces sharper lettering and a cleaner finished surface.

Use Case

Install the ring around the extinguisher valve neck during service to visually indicate the extinguisher has been inspected for the specified service years.

These rings provide quick visual confirmation during inspections, especially in facilities with large numbers of extinguishers.

Notes

  • Designed for facility and organizational inspection systems
  • Created specifically for Idaho State University fire and life safety operations
  • The year values are editable so the model can be reused indefinitely
  • Always follow local fire codes and professional servicing standards
