Archie Tray | The Tray Series

Part of my ongoing Tray Series, the Archie Tray combines architectural geometry with everyday functionality. This series is designed to bring a cohesive, minimalist aesthetic to your home, with each piece featuring the signature rhythmic ribbing that plays beautifully with light and shadow.

The series is named after the arch silhouette and my dog, Archie, who is always by my side in the studio!

One Design, Multiple Sizes

The provided file is the Original Large version, but the design is fully scalable to fit your needs:

• Large (100%): A stunning statement piece for your coffee table, entryway, or bathroom vanity.
• Small (50%): Scaled down to 50% (as seen in the photos), it becomes the perfect elegant dish for rings, earrings, and watches.

The "Secret Sauce" for a Pro Finish

To achieve the high-end look shown in the images, here is my recommended setup:

1. Calibrate for Ironing: The real secret is to calibrate your filament and enable Ironing on all top surfaces. This removes all visible layer lines on the flat sections, giving it a smooth, premium finish.
2. Adaptive Layer Height: Use Adaptive Layer Height to ensure the smoothest possible transition on the curved ridges while keeping the print time efficient.
3. Matte Filament: Use a Matte PLA (Sand, Beige, or Marble). The lack of reflection emphasizes the rhythmic shadows of the ridges.
4. Support-Free: This model is optimized for 3D printing and requires zero supports, regardless of the scale.

Print Settings

• Scale: 100% for the tray / 50% for the jewelry dish. (These are the two already added plates)
• Layer Height: Adaptive (for smooth curves).
• Infill: 10% Gyroid.
• Walls: 3 walls for a solid, premium feel.

• Ironing: Enabled (Top surfaces).
