Inspiration Source:

I've been wanting SRP's innocent bunny headpiece for a long time, but unfortunately I only have a small A1 mini machine, so it's difficult to Print in Place a headpiece that a small cat can wear, and I don't want obvious seams on the headpiece. Just recently I saw a 3D Printed papercraft panda head model, and I thank the author for providing the open-source generation tool. The sharp angles of the papercraft model can effectively hide the seams, making it perfect for a papercraft bunny headpiece!

Friends who want to print, be mentally prepared, the quantity of 35 plates is no joke, the process is painful, but the final product is worth it~

Important Notes:

  1. When printing connectors, be sure to clean the build plate first. The parts are relatively small and very prone to spaghetti.
  2. Many connectors will be used during assembly, I haven't counted exactly how many. But it's not recommended to print many at once. Once a small part fails, because there are too many to set skipping prints on a mobile phone, it can easily cause a chain reaction leading to widespread spaghetti.
  3. Clean the build plate! Clean the build plate! Clean the build plate! Important things said three times! Not only the connectors need cleaning, but it's best to clean it before printing the main body too! All surfaces of the headpiece's pieces are printed face down. If the plate is not cleaned thoroughly, it's prone to warping and deformation, which will affect the aesthetic of the headpiece after assembly.
  4. When assembling, try to use a tool to press the connectors. Pressing with just fingers will be painful.
  5. Each part is labeled with a name. It's recommended to label the parts with names after printing each plate, otherwise, looking at the assembly instructions will be a headache!

Assembly Instructions:

Because my build plate is small, the model was split into many pieces when using tools to separate it. I labeled the name of each piece from 4 views: front, back, left, and right. A continuous block of color is one piece. It is recommended to start assembling from the top of the ear.

Only the white bunny head main body needs to be assembled piece by piece. The carrot body and leaves do not require assembly; after printing, they can be directly connected with glue. The eyes, nose, and mouth are also the same. It is recommended to stick the carrot eyes, nose, and mouth with nano glue (or magnets?), so that if the eyes and mouth are updated later, the expression can be directly replaced.

If there's anything unclear in the assembly instruction images, feel free to ask questions~
