Why I Designed This

The idea came from my brother, who works as an electrician. He showed me a professional positioning tool used during flush box installation.

The tool worked great — but was very expensive.

So I decided to create a practical 3D printable alternative designed for real installation work.

Modular System

The tool is built from modular frames and connectors, allowing flexible configurations depending on the installation scenario.

The frame design also includes reference points for laser alignment to help position multiple boxes in a straight line.

Optional bubble level addon available.

Recommended Print Settings

Designed for workshop and on-site usage.

Suggested settings:

  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • 3 wall loops
  • 15% infill

Development Process

This project went through many prototype iterations before reaching the final version.

Early designs required screwing boxes directly into the tool, which made installation slower and less practical.

The final system focuses on:

  • speed,
  • simplicity,
  • modularity,
  • durability,
  • and real-world usability.
