Description

⚓ Mini Tetrapod Concrete Mold – Wave Breaker Decor 🌊

Create your own miniature tetrapods, the iconic concrete wave breakers used in harbors and coastal defenses.

This 3D printed mold allows you to cast small tetrapods from concrete or cement, perfect as desk decor, paperweights, or small coastal-style sculptures.

Simply print the mold, fill it with concrete, let it cure, and remove the finished tetrapod.

The result is a solid miniature version of the famous breakwater structures found along many coastlines.

How to use:

Apply a small amount of Vaseline or oil to the inside of the mold to make it easier to remove later.

Assemble the mold using 18 M4x12 screws.

Use quick-setting concrete or something similar.

The mixture should be on the runnier side so that the mold fills well.

Swirl the mold and use a stick to remove all air bubbles from the mold.

Let the concrete dry thoroughly (several days) before disassembling the mold.

very nice, I still have to try the cement. I would add a small fitting also in the outer part where the cement is poured, to have the 4 parts equal, or rather a small cap

Support Issue:Needs supports
Bed Adhesion Issue:Without supports, print can be easily knocked off build plate while printing topmost layers. Difficulties printing in PLA and PETG: detached from print bed while printing topmost layers. I tried printing another in PETG for better bed adhesion but had the same issue. That said, I adore this model! With a bit of cleanup and some washers to bridge the incomplete screw holes, the moulds should still work. I really hesitated to give this profile 3 stars since even the failed prints are still technically useable.

Exceptionally cool. Have you found these molds to be reusable, or does the thermal process destroy them?

What size is the shape? Another thing, do you know how much it weighs when dry?
