Skull & Spikes Fantasy Pauldron: Epic Armor!
Detailed Description of the Model:
Unleash your inner dark knight or chaotic warrior with this high-detail fantasy shoulder pauldron. This model features a menacing skull as its centerpiece, flanked by aggressive horns and a series of sharp, jagged spikes that transition into tiered armor plating. The design is optimized for FDM printing and is split into three manageable pieces to ensure high-quality surface finishes and easier support removal. Whether you’re building a Dread Knight, a Barbarian Overlord, or a Necromancer, this piece provides that commanding, high-fantasy silhouette that makes any cosplay stand out.
How It’s Used (Functional):
This is a wearable cosplay component designed for the shoulder. To wear it, the three printed pieces should be joined using a plastic welder or heavy-duty adhesive (see the assembly tips below). The interior of the pauldron is hollowed to accommodate padding for comfort and can be rigged to your chest piece or harness using nylon straps or velcro attached to the underside.
History of the Model:
Inspired by the dark aesthetic of classic tabletop wargaming and gothic fantasy RPGs, this model was designed to bridge the gap between "organic" bone structures and "industrial" medieval plating. I wanted something that looked like it was forged in a graveyard—aggressive, heavy, and unmistakably magical.

Remix Ideas & Alternative Uses
Don't just wear it—get creative! Here are a few ways you can remix or repurpose this design:
- 🛡️ Shield Boss: Scale the skull and horns down and mount them to the center of a circular shield for a #VikingFantasy vibe.
- 🕯️ Gothic Wall Sconce: Flip the pauldron over, add a mount, and use it as a decorative base for a LED "candle" or #GothicHomeDecor.
- 🏰 Terrain Piece: Scale it up and bury half of it in the "ground" of your tabletop gaming layout to create a "Giant's Graveyard" #DNDTerrain.
- 🚲 Bike/Helmet Ornament: Shrink it down and mount the skull and spikes to the top of a helmet for a #MadMax or #Wasteland look.
