Polymaker Filament Clip AMS & Spool Adapter Ready

Simple, quick print for securing filament on the oval shaped 2026 Polymaker Spools. I have mainly used these on my Panchroma and HT-PLA / HT-PLA-CF spools. 

I print Cardboard Spool Adapter Rings in the filament color for all my cardboard spools and did not like any of the options that sit on the filament as you have to remove them each time and others didn't clear my spool rings interfering with the AMS. This is a 1 time application for the life of the spool and should be reusable for future spools. 

I typically use adapters from both https://makerworld.com/en/@Molodos and https://makerworld.com/en/@AU3D and generally hang over the edge of the spool by ~6mm which my design gives adequate clearance and same thickness as the adapters at 1mm. 

Note: There are 2 different sizes in the print profile with 1 and 6 quantities. The 'standard' size which fits the ~8mm x ~6mm oval opening. However the size of the opening seems to vary based on the different spools I've been getting in. The '.15mm larger' plates will be a VERY snug fit on all the spools I've tried and may be slightly destructive to the opening but will for sure stay put in the AMS. 

Protips: 

1. As shown in my last image. Take a piece of scrap filament and press the clip into the filament onto a hard surface a few times before inserting into the spool. I've designed the opening to be a snug fit as I don't want the filament to unravel but also don't want the filament to be damaged as is what I was getting when just using the holes on the spool. 

2. The included print profile is standard .2mm layer height, speeds are slowed down a decent amount and I dialed in the walls/infill to produce a solid clip. I've used various types of PLA to print these, but basic/standard PLA seems to be best as PLA+ and similar seem to shrink more and more give in the material so less satisfying clip-in. 

3. I've printed these on the standard PEI plate, Glacier/Frostbite cool plates, and others and have not needed a brim, but I keep my plates clean, use an aux fan diffuser and have not had adhesion issues.
