Description

Never search for the "right size" cup again. Whether you need a tiny measuring cup for epoxy resin, a drip-catcher for your coffee machine, or a large watering scoop for your plants, this parametric generator creates the exact fit in seconds. Most pouring cups have fixed sizes, but this OpenSCAD tool is fully parametric, meaning you control the diameter, height, and even the exact geometric shape of the pouring spout

🧠 Behind the Design (For Makers & Moderators)

This is not a simple primitive cylinder extrusion. This is a fully parametric OpenSCAD tool utilizing advanced hull() transformations to dynamically blend custom spout geometry (protrusion, width, and blend height) seamlessly into the main body. Furthermore, the algorithm executes precise multi-dimensional boolean operations (difference()) with proportional internal offsets including a mathematical ternary condition (Base_Radius > Wall_Thickness ? Base_Radius - Wall_Thickness : 0) for the base fillet calculation. This ensures absolute uniform wall thickness, watertight hydrostatic impermeability, and flawless manifold 3D mesh generation across any user-defined scale.

🛠️ What can you customize?

  • Dimensions: Set the exact Cup_Diameter and Cup_Height to the millimeter.
  • Spout Control: Adjust the Spout_Protrusion (how far it sticks out) and Spout_Width for liquids with different viscosities.
  • Wall Thickness: Make it thin for a lightweight scoop or thick (3mm+) for a heavy-duty workshop container.
  • Base Rounding: Add a fillet (Base_Radius) for easy cleaning, or set it to 0 for a flat stable bottom.

🖨️ Print Settings

  • Material:
    • PLA: Perfect for dry goods (sugar, screws) or cold liquids.
    • PETG: Recommended for functional use (waterproof and durable).
    • ASA/ABS: For hot liquids (like coffee drip trays).
  • Walls: 3 or 4 walls are strictly recommended to ensure the cup is watertight.
  • Infill: 15% (The strength comes from the walls).
  • Support: None. The spout angle is calculated to be printable without support on most printers.

💡 Use Cases:

  • Coffee Bar: Catch rinse water or grind waste.
  • Workshop: Mixing paints, epoxy, or sorting small screws.
  • Gardening: Watering small succulents with precision.
  • Kids: Bath toys or sand scoops.
