Suitcase Wheel Axle Repair Insert (6mm)

Description:

This part is designed to repair and reinforce damaged wheel axle mounts on trolley suitcases. Over time, the hole where the wheel axle is mounted can become worn out or enlarged, causing the wheel to wobble or fail.

With this repair insert, you can restore the axle mount and create a much stronger reinforced structure.

The reinforcement on my own suitcase has already survived two vacations, so it has proven to be a reliable fix.

How it works:

1. Drill or file the damaged axle hole to 13 mm.
2. Insert the printed reinforcement part into the opening.
3. Install M3 and M2.5 heat-set threaded inserts.
4. Screw the part to the suitcase side wall.
5. Install a new wheel with a 6 mm axle.

The insert spreads the load over a larger area and creates a durable new axle mount.

Required hardware:

• New wheel with 6 mm axle
• M2.5 heat-set threaded inserts
• M3 heat-set threaded inserts
• Matching screws

Use case:

Ideal for repairing worn or broken wheel mounts on trolley suitcases instead of replacing the entire luggage.

Printing recommendation:

Print in a strong material such as PETG, ABS, or Nylon with high infill for best durability.
