The HELiX_Vault series is a high-performance modular storage system designed for the secure, discreet, and robust transport of medical essentials. Engineered for durability, this series bridges the gap between tactical EDC gear and life-saving medical utility.

The Story Behind the Design 💡 I owe this entire project to Tim Chapman. It was his insight that sparked the development of this system. We often carry tactical gear for fun, but for many, carrying medication like insulin is a daily necessity. This project is dedicated to him and everyone who needs their medical supplies to stay safe, dry, and functional in any environment. 🌲🛡️

✨ Key Features of the HELiX_Vault Series

  • S3 (Syringe Case): Features a specialized TPU Inlay that securely holds up to three syringes (max length 144.5 mm). This inlay protects sensitive plastic parts, like plungers and needle mounts, from mechanical stress and impact. 🛡️
  • V1 (Vial Case): Equipped with an innovative TPU Inlay featuring a Flex-Fin design. The flexible fins within the inlay automatically adjust to different vial sizes (e.g., 5/8", 13/16", and 1"), centering them and acting as a shock absorber for glass containers. 🧪✨
  • ColorCode System (Night Vision): Each Vault features an external groove for a TPU ColorRing. By using Glow-in-the-Dark TPU, you can locate your vital medication instantly in total darkness. 🔦🟢
  • Weatherproof Seal: The cap includes an integrated TPU gasket (seal), making the container dust- and waterproof to protect your supplies from the elements. 🌊

🛠️ Technical Specifications & Print Settings

  • Material: Optimized for PETG (Main Body) for high impact and heat resistance, and TPU for the functional Inlays and seals.
  • Modular Design: The inlays are removable and can be swapped depending on your needs.
  • Tactical Aesthetics: Designed to fit into any outdoor or tactical gear setup without looking like a "medical box."

Great print! Printed original, perfect size. Printed a second time and scaled up so that it would hold a freezer pack along with the injectable to allow for travel for those injectables that need to "keep refrigerated". No issues going through TSA for my flight, just declare you have an injectable medication before going through scans and was allowed with no issues. Perfect!

Printed original size, fit an injectable perfectly. Scaled up for a second print that allows an injectable with an icepack inside for those that use a "must refrigerate" injectable like I do. Great work!

Being a diabetic for over 40 years I really appreciate the R&D on projects like this. I was recently put on the injection pen type of insulin and was wondering if you'd made any versions of the syringe style that would hold a couple of the injection pens? Love your work BTW.

First of all, thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your story! 40 years is a long journey, and hearing that my R&D is appreciated by someone with your experience means a lot to me. 🛡️✨Regarding the Insulin Pens: You’ve hit on a great point! My current S3 is optimized for classic syringes, but I absolutely see the need for a dedicated Pen-Vault. These pens vary slightly in size, so I would need to look into the most common dimensions to ensure a perfect, rattle-free fit with a specialized TPU inlay.I’m adding this to my HELiX_Vault roadmap right now! ✍️📐 Stay tuned, as I want to make sure every diabetic has a rugged, tactical, and discreet way to carry their life-saving gear.Thanks for the inspiration and for following my work! 🚀

This looks awesome but my concern is that the syringes need to be unwrapped to go into the slots. This means they aren't maintaining their sterile wrapping, which could be a big problem. Have you considered a design that uses a more rectangular internal arrangement to allow sterile, individually wrapped syringes to be carried safely?

The Vault S3 was actually developed based on specific community requests for a compact 'day-carry' system where the container itself provides the clean environment. 🛡️💉However, I completely understand the preference for keeping original packaging intact. Since I don't have those specific wrapped syringes on hand, I rely on the community for dimensions. If you can provide the exact measurements of the wrapped units, I'd be happy to look into a rectangular or adjusted design! For custom, highly specific requirements, feel free to reach out via chat. Really excellent print. I remixed the insert to make the holes deeper, allowing it to fit syringes with 10 units/1ml filled.
