Sewing Machine Storage Box (Veritas Sarah)

Bill of Materials
Description
Today I designed a storage box for sewing accessories, specifically modeled to fit inside the bottom container of the Veritas Sarah sewing machine. The goal was to create a clean, organized insert that makes better use of the available space.
The box keeps small tools, needles, thread, and accessories neatly contained instead of rolling around loosely inside the compartment. It prints easily, fits securely, and helps keep the sewing setup tidy and efficient. Another practical step in my design journey — turning everyday annoyances into clean, printable solutions.
Assembly Guide – Hinge Installation
The hinge is assembled using a short piece of 1.75 mm PLA filament as the hinge pin.
🔧 Step-by-Step
- Align the two hinge parts so the hinge holes line up.
- Take a piece of 1.75 mm PLA filament.
- Push the filament through the hinge holes until it passes all the way through.
- Cut the filament flush on both sides for a clean finish.
That’s it — the filament acts as a simple and durable hinge axle.
⚙️ Adjustments (If Needed)
If the fit is too tight:
Lightly sand the PLA filament with fine sandpaper to slightly reduce its diameter until it slides in smoothly.
If the fit is too loose:
Apply a small drop of super glue to one end of the filament after insertion to secure it in place.
Keep tolerances light — the hinge should move freely but without excessive wobble.
