Here is the second version of my lightbox inspired by the racing world 🏎️
This time, it's a round format, more iconic and even more visually impactful.
Its circular design brings a vintage garage / gas station style reminiscent of the mythical signs of the automotive world.
Perfect for a workshop, a garage, a game room, or a space dedicated to enthusiasts of beautiful mechanics, this V2 asserts its character even more.

Homogeneous light diffusion
About the lighting:
💡 For lighting, I use this complete LED kit, simple to install and perfectly suited to my models:
👉 1.5 m LED strip kit – Neutral white (Leroy Merlin)
📦 For a clean and functional finish, I also designed a cable cover compatible with all my AR shells, available for download here:
✨ Tip: To improve light diffusion, I recommend adding a piece of aluminum adhesive tape to the bottom of the box. The result is more homogeneous and brighter!
🧴 Assembly is done using contact glue, Bison type (available at Action).
🛠️ Tips for perfect adhesion in 3D printing:
Carefully clean your print bed before each print. Grease residues, dust, or fingerprints can affect adhesion and cause detachments.
Check the bed calibration: a well-leveled bed ensures a uniform and well-adhered first layer.
Use a suitable adhesion surface: depending on your material, apply a thin layer of glue stick, adhesive spray, or a specific tape (e.g., Kapton, BuildTak).
Correctly adjust the bed temperature to promote adhesion according to the material used (PLA, ABS, PETG, etc.).
Reduce the print speed of the first layer: a slower speed allows for better filament adhesion to the print bed.
Plan for a « skirt » or « brim » in your slicer to stabilize the first layer and limit warping.
