3D Token Encounter Compendium – Volume 4: Urban & Thieves’ Guild

A set of tabletop-ready 3D urban encounter tokens designed for fast printing, easy painting, and clear battlefield readability. Volume 4 focuses on city intrigue, criminal networks, and morally gray authority figures that define street-level adventures and political tension arcs.

Overview

Volume 4: Urban & Thieves’ Guild shifts the 3D Token line from monsters to people — the movers, schemers, and enforcers who shape life inside city walls. This set centers on characters commonly encountered in alleyways, taverns, market squares, guard towers, docks, and hidden guild hideouts.

These are the pickpockets, informants, thugs, corrupt officials, and watchmen that turn simple errands into layered storylines. Each character is sculpted as a circular bas-relief medallion, emerging from the surface to create depth and strong visual definition without fragile or protruding elements. The designs remain intentionally chunky, FDM-friendly, and built for real table use.

Fully compatible with previous volumes and future releases.

Included Characters

• Cutpurse Rogue
• Street Thug
• Silent Assassin
• City Watch Guard
• Street Urchin (Pickpocket)
• Desperate Beggar
• Fence / Black-Market Dealer
• Corrupt Watch Captain

This volume supports urban campaigns, heist adventures, political corruption arcs, and faction-driven storytelling. If your campaign includes city walls, this volume will see constant use.

Design Notes

• Circular medallion-style tokens with raised rim
• Shallow to medium bas-relief for strong shadow definition
• Optimized geometry for FDM printers
• No thin blades, fragile fingers, or unsupported extensions
• Built for quick tabletop recognition

Special attention was given to facial expression and posture. Even in crowded city maps or dim tavern lighting, each character remains visually distinct and easy to identify.

Printing Notes

• Minimal supports required
• Designed for clean printing on standard 0.4mm nozzles
• Scales easily for different systems
• Standard layer heights work well; finer layers increase texture depth

Urban characters rely on facial detail and cloth folds — a slightly finer layer height enhances realism but is not required.

Support Removal & Cleanup Tips

A few interior cloak folds or weapon angles may generate light supports.

• Cut supports at top and bottom contact points rather than twisting
• Make multiple small cuts if needed
• Use a sharp hobby knife for tight interior areas
• Light sanding before priming improves armor and cloth surfaces

Take extra care around daggers and scale details on the Fence token for the cleanest finish.

Painting

These tokens are built to paint fast.

Prime → wash → drybrush immediately pulls out facial depth and cloth texture. They also work well unpainted for quick-play sessions.

Suggested palette themes:

• Earth tones and leather browns for rogues and thugs
• Muted steel and dark blues for City Watch
• Pale skin and harsh shadows for urban grit
• Rich fabrics or subtle metallic accents for the Corrupt Captain

Urban stories thrive on tension, secrets, and shifting loyalties. This volume brings that tension directly to the table.
