Description
Japanese-Inspired Spinner Jigger – Precision with a Twist
This Japanese-inspired 3D printed jigger brings together elegance, balance, and a little bit of fun. It features three precision measuring cups built around a central ring, combining clean cocktail accuracy with a playful spinning option.
The three cups include:
- ½ oz
- 1 oz (with a ¾ oz internal measurement line)
- 2 oz (with a 1½ oz internal measurement line)
The proportions are inspired by classic Japanese barware, with a tall and refined silhouette. Each cup is designed to be 100% solid (printed at 100% infill) for added strength and improved food safety — no hollow interiors inside the measuring area.
Each cup comes with a built-in screw thread, so assembly is simple — just screw the cups directly into the ring. No extra hardware required.
Printing & Assembly
- The cups require supports for best results.
- The main ring does not require supports.
- The spinner ring is printed in place — no assembly needed for the spinning mechanism.
If the spinner does not rotate freely right after printing, simply give it a gentle twist until you feel it snap loose. After that, it should spin smoothly.
The spinner version is designed to sit in the middle of your fingers (not at the base), so the ring is slightly smaller for better balance and control while spinning.
You can also choose to print a static version without the spinning feature if you prefer a fixed grip.
Food Safety Reminder 🍸
If you plan to use this jigger for real drink preparation, please follow these important guidelines:
- Print the cups at 100% infill to avoid internal cavities where moisture or bacteria could accumulate.
- Use certified food-safe filament (such as food-safe PLA or PETG).
- Print with a clean, dedicated nozzle.
Applying a food-safe epoxy coating to seal the interior surface is an extra step. It is generally not necessary if the jigger is for personal home use, but it is strongly recommended — and absolutely necessary — if you plan to use this in a restaurant or professional setting.
Even with 100% infill, standard 3D printing layer lines can trap bacteria, so sealing or using certified materials is strongly recommended for maximum hygiene and durability.
When printing functional bar tools, food safety should always come first.
This design blends precision, craftsmanship, and interactive movement — making cocktail prep accurate, elegant, and just a little more fun.
