Meet Benny, a soft-hearted teddy designed as part of the Teddy Bear Collection 🤎

 

With his rounded cheeks, tucked arms, and clearly defined paw pads, Benny has a calm and comforting presence. The sculpted surface keeps a smooth silhouette while maintaining subtle texture, making him both visually charming and reliable to print.

 

This model is designed for AMS multi-color printing, allowing clean separation for the eyes, nose, and paw pads while keeping the overall form cohesive and smooth.

 

Benny stands approximately 100 mm tall. Upscaling works beautifully if you’d like a larger decorative piece. Downsizing below 80 mm with the provided settings is not recommended, as fine details may lose definition. Smaller sizes are possible if you reduce the layer height), which helps preserve detail at reduced scale.

🖨️ Fuzzy Skin Settings

If you are not using the provided ready-to-print 3MF file, make sure to enable Fuzzy Skin in your slicer:

  • Fuzzy Skin Thickness: 0.2 mm
  • Fuzzy Skin Point Distance: 0.8 mm

These settings create the soft teddy-like texture and are essential for achieving the intended finish.

For my multicolour models: if you are printing with a single extruder printer, you may see a significant amount of filament waste. This is not caused by the model itself, but by the way colour changes work with this type of printing system.

If you want to reduce the waste, you can:

  • print multiple copies of the same model on one plate
  • print several models from the same collection on one plate (import the 3MF files in one file)
  • reduce the number of colours or print the model in a single colour
