Sky Tower (Oblivion)

Bill of Materials
Description
Located thousands of meters above the clouds to escape the dangers of the Earth's surface, the structure appears as a suspended platform supported by a thin central pillar, composed almost entirely of glass and polished metal
The interiors feature an open and circular floor plan that eliminates visual barriers, allowing natural light and the boundless panorama of the post-apocalyptic sky to become an integral part of the decor
Every element, from the slender-profile furniture to the hyper-technological kitchen, follows a color palette dominated by white and cool gray, conveying a sense of absolute order and celestial isolation
An iconic architectural detail of the residence is the transparent-bottomed pool that juts out into the void, offering a dizzying and surreal view of the land below
Despite the appearance of a technological paradise, the Sky Tower serves both as an operational base for drone maintenance and as a golden cage, where the perfect cleanliness of its lines sharply contrasts with the wild and dusty nature of the ruined world below
The film, released in 2013 and directed by Joseph Kosinski, is a visually breathtaking science fiction work set in 2077, decades after a devastating war against an alien threat
The plot follows Jack Harper, one of the last remaining drone repairmen on Earth, who begins to question his mission and the very reality of the conflict after rescuing a mysterious woman from a crashed spaceship
The Bubbleship (or *Bubble Ship*) is the perfect technological extension of the Sky Tower: a reconnaissance aircraft that blends the elegance of a Bell 47 helicopter with the agility of a predatory insect
You can print it from the separate Profile: be very careful when removing the supports, as it is scaled with the Sky Tower, making it quite small and delicate
The design is dominated by a completely transparent spherical glass cockpit, which provides Jack Harper with 360-degree visibility during his flights over the desolate lands of Earth
Its white, aerodynamic structure is supported by two rotating side thrusters, which allow for extremely fluid maneuvers, vertical takeoffs, and the ability to hover with millimeter precision
On the Sky Tower platform, the ship rests on a circular support that serves as both a recharging and maintenance area
Despite the refined and almost fragile appearance of the glass bubble, the Bubbleship is a heavily armed vehicle, equipped with retractable machine guns necessary to defend against ground threats
I worked hard to create this miniature
I tried to recreate every detail of this fantastic dwelling suspended among the clouds
The most difficult part was undoubtedly finding the right way to print it, because it was really challenging to get this far
You will only need a few drops of Loctite SuperAttak type glue to join the various parts
The platform, I warn you, if printed in PLA, over time (I'm talking months) will tend to bend slightly under the weight of the Bubbleship: if you have the option, it's better to print it in PETG
You can also decide whether to make the Sky Tower's windows black or transparent: both are fine
Well… do I deserve a coffee
Happy printing
