Description

Engineering + Art = Magic

Beginner's Guide

The Next Dimension

How It's Made

PopSocket + MakerChip = Magic

Does your phone have a boring PopSocket?

Despite the slew of MakerChips sitting in your drawer?

Problem, meet solution.

Make One, I Guess

No adhesive required.
Friction-fits a plain PopSocket: MagSafe or regular (affiliate links)

  • Use PLA+ to give it some durability.
  • Gently pry out the support material using pointy tweezers.
  • It's easier to install if you first insert a MakerChip. Then, with the PopSocket resting on a flat surface, firmly press the adapter onto it. You might need to work your way around the edges.

Shameless Self-Promotion

The chips in the photos are progression tokens earned during this maker adventure. The PopSocket adapter was a brief tangent.

Good question! Looks like I neglected to link to the original. I've added it in the description, but here it is: https://makerworld.com/models/415825-makerchip-maker-chip-the-new-makercoin

Hi there, quick question.... is there enough space behind the maker chip that I could put an NFC puck or sticker so that I can also turn this well thought out little print into a tap for my business??

It's designed to basically have zero tolerance. That said, MakerChips can vary in thickness, IIRC by up to 0.5mm. So you could always just scale your MakerChips down to the thinner end of the range.
