I built a very compact presence detector for ESPHome (Home Assistant) using an “ESP32 C3 Super Mini” and an “LD2410C” sensor. For this, I have a suitable case here that is very small (L: 33mm x W: 23mm x H:13mm).

The following components were used:

____________________________________________________________________________

Construction:

The two boards were soldered directly on top of each other to require as little space as possible. Power is supplied via the ESP32's USB-C port (power consumption 0.4 - 1.1W)

Pins ESP32 → LD2410C:
               5V → VCC
                G → GND

                 4 → RX

                 3 → TX
(the “OUT” pin in the middle of the LD2410C must be removed and must not have any connection to pin “3.3” of the ESP32)

I have linked the Yaml code for ESPHome here as a .txt file
