Description

This 3D printed adaptor allows cargo boxes designed for rectangular roof racks with U-shaped metal brackets to be securely mounted on modern wing-shaped (aero) roof racks.

Many older roof boxes do not sit flat on aero bars, causing poor fit, instability, and uneven load distribution. Which can damage the roof racks.

These adaptors solve that problem by creating a flat, stable interface between the cargo box and the wing-shaped roof rack.

The adaptor sits under the roof box, wrapping around the aero bar, while the original metal U-bolt goes around the adaptor and up into the base of the cargo box – exactly like on classic square bars, just adapted for modern racks.

Tested on a Tesla Model Y, but compatible with many vehicles using similar wing-shaped roof racks.

Features

  • ✅ Enables older cargo boxes to fit modern aero roof racks
  • ✅ Designed for U-shaped metal mounting brackets
  • ✅ Creates a flat and stable mounting surface
  • ✅ Hidden installation under the cargo box
  • ✅ No permanent modification to roof racks or box
  • ✅ Clean and minimal design, ideal for 3D printing
