Description

The widely used Weishi 1000 and 1900 timegrapher is an excellent timing machine for hobbyists. However, the stand includes a small aluminum piece that directly supports the watch during testing. It works, but it always bothered me knowing that bare metal is what my watch rests on. There is a real risk of scratching the case if you are not careful.

I have seen plenty of temporary fixes such as taping it over or covering it with a plastic bag, but none of them feel like a proper solution.

I designed a small curved cover that snugly slides onto the aluminum support. It is quick and easy to print and far more durable than any temporary hack. TPU or FLEX is the only material I recommend, as it creates a soft protective surface while still keeping enough rigidity to hold its shape.

Since adding this cover, the stand is much more comfortable to use. I can now place a watch on it without worrying about scratches.

⚠ TPU/FLEX is required to create a soft protective surface.

Print settings

In modelling this cover, care was taken to make sure it was easy and fast to print, TPU/FLEX has to be used due to the task of the cover, and a few settings should be followed to get a great combination of soft, yet rigid. Below you will find my suggested settings.

On my Creality Ender-3 V3 SE it takes around 16 minutes and less than 2 grams of filament to print.
