🇫🇷 Description (French)
This bust depicts Eirikr Thorvaldson, an iconic figure of the Viking Age and a Norse explorer of the 10th century. It is inspired by the most widely recognized image of the character, as shaped by historical engravings, illustrations, and modern reconstructions.
The sculpture focuses exclusively on the head and upper torso, following a classical sculptural approach. Strong volumes and clearly defined planes give structure to the face, while the hair and beard are rendered with bold, deliberate forms, reflecting the harshness and resolve traditionally associated with Erik the Red. The expression remains neutral yet powerful, conveying the presence of a leader, an outlaw, and a pioneer.
The pedestal is intentionally simple and understated, in keeping with classical bust traditions, allowing the face to remain the focal point. This bust pays tribute to the man who led the first Norse settlers to Greenland and whose life is deeply rooted in the Icelandic sagas. Rather than an idealized portrait, it offers a timeless and faithful sculptural interpretation of a major historical figure, designed as a 3D-printed collectible piece.

AI may be involved in certain stages of the creation process; however, all models are systematically corrected, optimized for 3D printing, and physically printed before being published.
