The Shaanxi Y-9 is a Chinese medium-sized, medium-range turboprop tactical transport aircraft developed by Shaanxi Aircraft Company as an upgraded, stretched successor to the Y-8. Entering service around 2012–2016, it is designed for cargo transport, paratrooper drops, and as a specialized platform for electronic warfare (EW) and airborne early warning (AEW&C).
