Sleek profile covers – The ultimate finish for your setup!
Give your aluminum profile project a professional, clean design! I originally developed these covers for my own project: A custom frame for an open-air PC, where the PC components are directly attached to an IKEA Skadis pegboard. Since I wanted to hide the technical look of the open aluminum profiles in the living area, these covers were created.
The result is a minimalist, high-quality look – perfect for PC builds, sim rigs, or furniture.
Features:
- Compatibility: Versions for standard 30x30 and 40x40 profiles.
- Modular & Scalable: The files can easily be stretched in the slicer along the Z-axis to the exact required length.
- Minimalist Design: Hides the groove and provides a smooth, elegant surface.
IMPORTANT: Fit & Test Print
Since aluminum profiles can have minimal tolerances depending on the manufacturer, I strongly recommend:
- First print a 1 cm high test piece.
- Check if it fits snugly enough or is too loose.
- If necessary, scale the model minimally in the X and Y directions (e.g., 99.5% or 100.5%) to find the perfect fit for your profiles.
Print Settings:
- Print Bed Adhesion: Since parts are often printed very tall (I successfully printed 25 cm in one piece), good adhesion is a must. If necessary, use a Brim.
- Material: PLA for aesthetics. If the profiles are very close to hot PC components (e.g., GPU backplate), I recommend PETG.
- Scaling: Only modify the Z-axis to adjust the length!
