Description
The Snapmaker U1 is a unique machine and it deserves a unique cover!
So I developed DROID. A modular cover that everyone can print according to their needs! There are three different versions: Basic, Mid, and Full.
Basic:
Cover with windows and rear flaps for maintenance, etc. including print plate holder and storage space for tools
Mid:
Cover with windows and rear flaps for maintenance, etc. including print plate holder and storage space for tools + printed parts for active ventilation during printing, as well as space for additional light
Full:
Cover with windows and rear flaps for maintenance, etc. including print plate holder and storage space for tools + printed parts for active ventilation during printing, as well as space for additional light.
Special feature: includes filament boxes in the upper area for dust protection and dry storage!
What all covers have in common:
Easy to print! No complex additional parts needed!
Which additional parts are needed?
Basic:
2x DIN A4 (297*210) Plexiglas, 1mm thick
Mid:
2x DIN A4 (297*210) Plexiglas, 1mm thick
Fan with control
2x M4 12mm + washer
Optional: LED strips
Full:
4x DIN A4 (297*210) Plexiglas, 1mm thick
Fan with control
6x M4 12mm + washer
8x PC4-M10 for PTFE connection
8x Ball bearing 608RS
Optional: LED strips

Glue is also needed for assembly - I also recommend printing all parts first before starting assembly :)
Assembly is generally self-explanatory and actually does not require a real manual. Should one be needed, I can gladly provide it later!
Everything is printed in PETG. Print profiles for Bambu Lab printers will be provided later.

Printing notes:
Many parts are printed with supports. Generally, I printed almost all parts at 0.24mm layer height and set the outer wall and surface speed to 80mm. Except for the Droid shield, all files are separate and can be printed in a single color!
