YAFC

Yet Another Filament Clip

Compatible with and designed for Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro

Designed for Bambu Lab Spools

When I started my 3D Printing Adventure, I soon found one problem regarding the AMS 2 Pro: Threading the filament through the spool's holes for drying seemed counterintuitive, complicated, damaged the filament and just did not feel right.

While checking the other great filament clips already present on MakerWorld, most seemed to have the same problems: Either they were not compatible with the AMS 2 Pro, the "turning while drying" feature, the filament did not fit, or I couldn't install them since some part was too big, or something broke off.

For those reasons, I started making my own experiments and prototypes, resulting in Yet Another Filament Clip.

Features

Fully compatible with AMS 2 Pro

YAFC does not make contact with anything within the AMS 2 Pro besides the spool itself.

No stuck spools, no grinding sounds when turning the spool.

Can be installed on fresh/full spools thanks to it's slim profile

Use YAFC from day one!

Easy install and removal

No tools required!

Tough and durable

All parts exposed to stress have been integrated into the structure, not just added on top of it

Little to no cost

Uses only 0,77 g of filament per clip!

Recommendations

Due to the way YAFC is constructed, and the design philosophy behind it, ensure good adhesion to the build plate.

The standard build plate shipped with the P2S provides enough adhesion on its own to print YAFC.

If you want to use YAFC with the AMS 2 Pro drying feature, ensure you're using filament with the appropriate heat resistance.

YAFC has only been tested with BAMBU LAB PETG HF so far.
