Description
This sleeve is designed to sit between the gas lift cylinder and the five star base of a Sleepcase chair.
Over time, some chairs have been reported to allow the gas cylinder to slowly settle deeper into the base. When this happens, the lower end of the cylinder can approach or contact the floor, potentially rubbing against carpet or hard surfaces.
The purpose of this sleeve is to slightly elevate the gas cylinder within the base, helping maintain proper clearance from the floor. By acting as a spacer, it reduces the likelihood of the cylinder sinking further into the base during normal use.
On some chair bases, the sleeve may result in the gas cylinder sitting slightly higher than its original position. As a result, the overall seating height and adjustment range may change marginally. This is generally minimal but may be more noticeable for very short users who rely on the lowest seat height setting.
The sleeve installs without modifying the chair and does not affect the normal function of the gas lift mechanism.
