Compatibility (IMPORTANT)
This holder is designed for low-profile digital kitchen scales that meet both requirements:
- Maximum width: 8.0 in (203 mm)
- Maximum thickness: 0.75 in (19 mm)
✔ Works best with:
- Flat or slightly rounded scales
- Smooth backs suitable for tape mounting
❌ Not intended for:
- Thick or bulky mechanical scales
- Oversized commercial or baking scales
Always measure your scale before printing.
How It Works
The holder supports the scale from the bottom with a shallow retaining lip while the body rests securely against the back wall. Strong double-sided tape handles the mounting, making installation quick and fully reversible.
The design keeps the scale snug without squeezing buttons or the display.
What You’ll Need
- Double-sided mounting tape
- Isopropyl alcohol (recommended for surface prep)
Recommended Tape
- ⭐ 3M VHB (best long-term hold)
- Heavy-duty foam mounting tape
- Avoid thin or low-strength double-sided tapes
Print Settings (Recommended)
- Material: PETG (recommended) or PLA
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Walls/Perimeters: 2-3
- Infill: 8-10% Gyroid
- Top/Bottom layers: 3-5
- Supports: None
- Brim: Recommended (if your printer needs help with adhesion)
Material Note:
PETG is recommended for kitchen environments due to better heat resistance and long-term durability, but I used PLA with no issues.
Print Orientation
- Print with the flat bottom on the build plate esentially with the holder standing up
- Ensures:
- Maximum strength
- Perfect tape adhesion
- Clean finish
Installation Instructions
- Test-fit your scale in the holder.
- Clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and let dry.
- Apply tape to the full rear mounting surface of the holder.
- Press firmly in place for 30–60 seconds.
- Allow adhesive to cure:
- Foam tape: a few hours
- VHB: 24–72 hours for maximum strength
- Insert your scale and enjoy clutter-free storage.

- Inside cabinet door
- Inside cabinet side wall
- Undershelf / under cabinet top
⚠️ If mounting on a cabinet door, confirm the scale won’t hit shelves when closing.
