A life-size fossil skull replica of Deinonychus, the dinosaur that inspired the “Velociraptors” seen in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.
While this skull is on the smaller end for a fully grown Deinonychus, it is scaled to true life size, making it an excellent reference piece for display and education.
Although often called Velociraptors in film, the animals portrayed were far closer to Deinonychus in size, proportions, and behaviour. Author Michael Crichton was advised that Deinonychus was the scientifically accurate choice, but opted for Velociraptor because the name sounded more dramatic.
This model represents the real animal behind the movie legend.
Perfect for:
- Jurassic Park / Jurassic World fans
- Life-size fossil displays
- Palaeontology and education
- Serious prehistoric skull collections
🧱 Features
- Life-size Deinonychus skull
- Accurate fossil-style proportions
- Weathered, ancient bone aesthetic
- Designed as a solid display piece
- Scales cleanly if you want a larger or smaller version
🖨️ Printing Notes (Important)
- Supports are difficult to remove, but absolutely doable
- Take your time — patience is key, especially around the teeth
- I recommend:
- Needle-nose pliers
- Flush cutters
- A wooden chopstick or similar tool for hard-to-reach areas
- Avoid pulling supports all at once — crush and remove them gradually
- Layer lines enhance the fossilised look
