- 65cm long 6mm diameter studding or rod x 1: I use 6mm allthread rods on all of my props to add weight and strength to them. however any 6mm rod should work for support.
Description
My entry to the Maker World Scepter design contest.
My primary focus was using chains to create a tensegrity effect so I created my own original design using the fantasy theme.
I also used some print in place and pause print methods along with AMS and using raw filament in the construction.
The upper decorative section of the scepter is fully suspended using tensegrity, and using the metal rod to strengthen and apply weight it is plenty strong and very well balanced.
This can be made over a couple of days with minimal tools.
All components are printable (I used my 2 BambuLab A1s)
the only non printable part is the metal rod (6mm all thread) used to strengthen and add weight to the design. This is not technically required but I would heavily advise towards acquiring it for the project or replacing it with a carbon, plastic or wooden dowel.
