Description

This model is a functional remix of the original syringe-to-vial adapter. I modified the design to work specifically with 0.5 mL (50-unit) syringes and 3 mL and 10 mL vials, rather than being fully parametric. Based upon this model

Key changes from the original model:

  • Rescaled and re-dimensioned the syringe holder to properly fit 0.5 mL insulin-style syringes, with shallow needle depth to pull lesser amounts of liquid when near empty.
  • Adjusted vial retention geometry to support 3 mL and 10 mL vials
  • Maintained the original print-in-place hinge design and vial orientation
  • Verified clearances for PETG printing with standard 0.4 mm nozzles

The core concept, hinge mechanism, and viewing windows are retained from the original design, while dimensions and tolerances were modified for a more consumer-friendly, ready-to-print adapter.

Instructions for Use

  1. Insert the syringe into the lower holder.
  2. Close the holder to secure the syringe in place.
  3. Insert the vial into the top opening with the vial oriented upside down.
  4. Press gently until the vial stopper is punctured by the needle.
  5. Draw the desired amount into the syringe.
  6. Remove the vial from the holder.
  7. Open the holder and remove the syringe.
