Air Extraction System for ELEGOO Mars 5 (Ø80 mm)
It all started when I bought the resin printer because they said that using water-washable resin, everything was perfect, no odors, no need for alcohol, but I was sorely disappointed. Quite the opposite, a nauseating smell, dry nose. I really didn't expect it. Seeing that situation, I had to design something to extract fumes from the start of printing. It also seems that some resins smell more than others. I tried Elegoo Black, and from what I hear about Anycubic, it seems better in that regard. We'll see.
This design is intended to improve the extraction of vapors and odors generated during resin printing with the ELEGOO Mars 5, allowing air to be safely vented outdoors.
The 3MF file includes all the necessary parts to assemble a modular extraction system, easy to print and adaptable to different configurations.
🔧 Included Parts
- Bottom Base
Designed to be placed under the ELEGOO Mars 5.
It incorporates an outlet compatible with a Ø80 mm flexible tube, through which air is channeled. - Casing Coupling Part
It is installed on the printer's casing and connects directly to the bottom base.
This part is divided into two parts to:- Facilitate printing.
- Allow for a closing cover, included in the design, to be placed if the rear part is to be removed in the future.
- Install an adapted filter or grille in the future
- Clamping Clamp
Includes a printed clamp and its M6 screw.
Alternatively, a standard M6 screw can be used. - Extractor Fan Adapter
Allows for an extractor fan to be coupled and the evacuation system to continue outwards.
🌬️ Usage Configuration (example)
In my personal case:
- The printer's outlet connects to an extractor fan with power regulation.
- After the extractor, the air passes through an additional filter.
- Finally, another Ø80 mm tube is connected, which directs the air directly outside.
This system significantly reduces odors and improves comfort in the workspace.
