Description
This model is a protective safety cover for airsoft wire-pull grenades, designed to reduce the risk of accidental wire or pin pulls during handling, transport, or storage.
The cover sits on top of the grenade and physically blocks access to the pull wire, helping keep the grenade in a safe, inactive state until intentional use. The design is compact, lightweight, and relies on a simple press-fit interface with no moving components.
Small and Large size variants are included, tested on EG WIRE PULL SMOKE (WP06), EG18, and EG18X grenades. Individual models are provided for each size, along with a combined 3MF file for convenient printing and setup.
Why this exists
Accidental activation is a common issue with wire-pull airsoft grenades during transport, staging, and general handling. This model was designed to address that risk with a dedicated, purpose-built safety cover that physically blocks access to the pull wire when the grenade is not in use.
The design prioritizes simplicity and reliability. A single-piece, press-fit construction eliminates moving parts and minimizes failure points, while allowing fast installation and removal when needed. The cover adds a layer of protection without interfering with normal grenade operation once removed.
By replacing improvised solutions such as tape or elastic straps, the model provides a reusable, print-friendly safety accessory that integrates naturally into airsoft loadouts and gear management workflows.
Printing & Setup
- No supports required
- Recommended orientation: flat on the build plate
- Suitable for PLA, PETG, and similar materials
- Standard layer heights (e.g. 0.2 mm) provide good strength and fit
Print Profile Notes
- Default wall and infill settings are sufficient
- Designed for consistent press-fit tolerances using default Bambu Studio settings
- Both size variants can be printed individually or together using the same profile
