Description

Reaction Ball - 3D Printable Training Ball

Train like a pro without the pro price tag. This reaction ball is purpose-built for agility training, hand-eye coordination, and goalie reaction drills. Print it once in PEBA 90A and you'll have a training tool that outperforms foam balls that cost $15-30 and fall apart after a few months.

Why This Works

Unlike cheap foam reaction balls that lose their bounce and tear easily, this 3D-printed design uses high-rebound PEBA material with a tunable shell structure. Adjust the infill to dial in exactly the bounce characteristics you need - from unpredictable ricochet for agility work to controlled rebounds for precision drills.

Perfect for:

  • Hockey goalie reaction training
  • Agility and coordination drills
  • Physical therapy and rehab exercises
  • Any sport requiring quick hands and reflexes

Material: SainSmart PEBA 90A

PEBA delivers 70-78% rebound energy return with excellent durability and impact resistance. It won't crack like TPU or lose bounce like foam.

CRITICAL: Dry your filament!

  • Temperature: 65-80°C for 8+ hours
  • PEBA absorbs moisture fast - print from dry box if possible

Tune Your Bounce

Dial in performance by adjusting infill percentage:

15% Gyroid

  • ~75-80% rebound height
  • Lightest weight (~70-80g)
  • Most unpredictable patterns
  • Best for agility/reaction training

25% Gyroid (Balanced)

  • ~65-70% rebound
  • ~85-95g
  • Good unpredictability with some consistency
  • Best all-around option

35% Gyroid (Controlled)

  • ~55-60% rebound
  • ~100-115g
  • More predictable bounce
  • Best for precision drills

40%+ (Heavy)

  • ~45-50% rebound
  • 120g+
  • Very controlled, minimal ricochet
  • Best for rehab/therapy work

TPU Use

TPU is more dampening than PEBA. Due to this, PEBA performs better as a reaction ball. If you want something that is more damp and you cannot adjust the infill to get the desired amount of dampness, TPU may be a better option in that case.
