Description

This is a folding utility knife featuring a reliable axle-lock mechanism. When deployed, the blade sits at a 15° angle relative to the handle for easier cutting. It includes a sturdy pocket clip.

In the closed position, the elasticity of the 3D-printed spring prevents the blade from deploying accidentally. When open, the axle-lock mechanism securely locks the blade in place.

Two Optional Print Configurations:

  • Lightweight Grip Version (Blue)
  • Anti-Slip Grip Version (White)

The Lightweight Grip version requires minimal support only around the screw holes, which does not affect the overall appearance.
The Anti-Slip Grip version requires slightly more support, but it is generated internally and also does not affect the exterior finish.

Assembly requires:

  • 1x M3-6mm screw
  • 1x M3-16mm screw
  • 1x M3-20mm screw
  • 3x M3 nuts

Blade Specification:
This project uses a Stanley-style utility blade. The recommended blade length is 62mm. A shorter blade may cause wobble, while a longer blade may not fit.

Assembly Tutorial:
(Screw usage diagram would be inserted here.)

Assembly Steps:

1.Display all components.

2,Insert the red locking pin from the outside through the blue handle shell.

3.Engage the front clip of the red spring onto the locking pin.

4,Attach the two gray handle spacer pieces one by one.

5,Similarly, engage the front clip of the other red spring onto the locking pin.

6,Place the blue right-side handle shell. Insert the pocket clip into its designated slot and secure it with an M3-20mm screw and nut.

7,Place the blade holder inside the handle and secure it using the red pivot axle. Use an M3-16mm screw and nut here.

8,Install the blade. Insert the blade into the blade holder, secure it with the blue blade clamp, and tighten using the M3-6mm screw and nut. Assembly is now complete.

The strength of 3D-printed knives cannot be guaranteed and they are suitable only for light-duty tasks, such as cutting paper or opening Amazon packages. Unless otherwise specified, all of my knife designs are intended for light-duty use only.
