Model reference: CSGO2 butterfly knife

Assembly accessories: glue, no need for hardware accessories

Printing suggestion: Enabling the ironing function can produce a better surface finish. It is recommended to use 100% infill printing and spray Lac to prevent printing warping. The assembly tolerance of the model has been set, please adjust the size of the model according to your own printing situation. Different 3D printers may have slightly different printing effects. If the stop column hinders the smooth movement of the blade handle, I suggest polishing the part of the stop column.

👍

I really liked the final print, but I didn't find any assembly instructions, so I wanted to share my process here: Start by fitting the accent pieces first, as they are slightly different, then apply glue. Insert the thicker end of the four small pins with a drop of glue, then align the other halves as shown in picture 3. Hold them in place until the glue dries to keep it roughly square. Next, apply glue to the top of the pins and fully assemble it as shown in figure 3. For the longer pins, insert the thicker ends through the entire assembly as shown in figure 4. I used pliers to apply glue to the thinner part, inserted them, and gave them a quick spin to ensure an even bond.

Excellent model for display, great job! But if you want to actually flip the knife around, one side of the handle always touches the upper pin of the blade when closing the knife. This creates enough friction to interrupt a smooth movement - very annoying when doing tricks with it. For anyone with a similar problem: I uploaded a remix which frees up the movement by making the upper pin a bit smaller (https://makerworld.com/en/models/450589#profileId-357572)

Thank you for pointing out the issues you discovered.Different 3D printers may yield varying print results. I took a shortcut in the design by integrating the blade stop with the blade body. If the blade stop impedes the smooth movement of the handle, it is recommended to file down the part of the blade stop.

great print. took some time to figure out the assembly. some of the small spacers go into holes that needed to be carved out since my filament filled them in

hey how did you end up removing the excess filament? there is some in the connector pins and I don’t wanna damage it.

I actually have a set of sheer flush cutters. I got this set for adding jump rings for 3d printed earrings, they're pretty good: https://a.co/d/0J2uEJw

Great design and easy to assemble.

The tolerances were quite loose, requiring extensive sanding, especially on the blade. The dimensions were off by a factor of two. I ultimately abandoned sanding and used a three-stud LEGO Technic axle instead

That print quality is horrendous.

I find it rather good 😁 I think I can apply some fine-tuning for printing, otherwise perfect 👌 I'm adding a picture showing where to attach the supports to the handle, it might help 😉 plan to use a cutter to remove excess material 🤘
