Description
This 3D model is a clip-on filter casing attachment designed to securely hold a 3M N95 mask filter media while providing a rigid, reusable outer shell. The casing is intended to improve filter stability, protection, and airflow management without permanently altering the original mask.
The design features a two-piece construction consisting of:
- Outer protective shell with bigger ventilation opening optimized for airflow
- Inner retention frame that evenly compresses the N95 filter material to maintain a tight seal
The attachment interfaces with standard 3M N95-style mask contours, using a snap-fit or friction-fit mechanism to ensure a secure hold while allowing for easy filter replacement. Internal geometry prevents filter collapse during inhalation while maximizing usable filter surface area.
Rounded edges and smooth internal transitions are used to minimize pressure points and reduce turbulence. The casing maintains a low-profile form factor to avoid interfering with facial movement or mask straps.
